Use Instructions

To be supplied in liquid form. Mix 100g of the supplement every 0.900L of drinking water to obtain one liter of final product. Its election is based on quality, performance, acceptability and nutritional profile.

Training with a bucket starts by isolating the foals in horse stalls with a deep bed for 2 to 4 hours after its last meal, approximately. This stimulates appetite, making the foal eager to accept the new diet. Prepare the milk substitute according to the instructions. For the first try, it is recommended to use a full bucket (7-8 L) so that the milk is more accessible for the animal; foal must be stimulated to try the milk on a hand and lead it slowly to the bucket. Several tries may be needed with short breaks in between before the foal drinks the milk from the bucket by itself. Most learn to drink in 12 hours.

If feeding is not successful, a feeding tube will be necessary as the energy reserves are minimal.
Generally, foals eat a 20%-30% of their weight in milk per day, or about 240-270 ml per kilo of weight with a calorie density of 500-650 kcal/L. As a general rule, most of light horse breed foals need 15-19 L of milk substitute per day while draft horses foals require 23-30 L. Feeding scheme should be of 6-8 servings per day in small volumes, increasing it and reducing the number of servings as the state of the animal improves.
